Next Generation
These quilts are made by Carolyn's granddaughter, Alison Gale. Carolyn taught her how to quilt as a child and gifted her one of her old sewing machines to continue quilting.
Bear Applique (2019)
This piece was made using a kit from Northern Threads. It was my first experience backing and binding a quilt.
Kauai Quilts (2020)
I picked up some beautiful batiks from a store called Kapaia Stitchery in Kauai. I experimented with several designs like making hearts and pinwheels. Machine quilted by Northern Threads.
National Parks (2021)
A panel quilt featuring pictuers from all the National Parks. This is backed in a plaid flannel. My first experience tying a quilt.
Moose Applique (2021)
This piece was my second one made using a kit from Northern Threads.
Double Diamond (2021)
This was the first quilt top I finished back in 2019 utilizing batik strip packs. I saved the quilt top so I could use it to learn long arm quilting. I was originally going to learn in 2020, but it got delayed until 2021 due to Coronavirus.
Penguin Party (2021)
I found this super cute penguin pattern from Elizabeth Hartman. I loved picking out the fabrics for the sweaters. This was the second quilt that I quilted myself on a long arm machine.
Nine Patch (2021)
Wanted to try a non-square nine patch pattern. Mostly used fabrics from Hawaii and mixed them with some black and white fabrics from my grandmother.
Lavender Blocks (2023)
This was a baby quilt I made for friends using a strip-pieced block pattern. I machine quilted this piece.
